We left Albuquerque by 7:00 a.m. on June 11th, having both woken up prior to our 6:30 a.m. alarm. If you know us, you know that we had to REALLY want to get out of there in order to willingly wake up that early. Luckily we had no major disasters on our way to Phoenix, and got to see some absolutely breathtaking scenery.
My amazing photography skills clearly demonstrate this.
We arrived in Phoenix early Thursday afternoon and went to Trader Joe’s. It was my first visit to this lovely grocery establishment and it was AWESOME. Mainly due to cheap wine. We bought five bottles of cheap wine to taste test and ultimately bought a case of the Charles Shaw aka “Two buck chuck” Chardonnay. We then proceeded to Taylor and Shaayna’s lovely abode where we had an awesome guest room waiting for us which was very much appreciated after the hovel we stayed at in Albuquerque. I inquired as to the location of the wine opener:
And then opened said wine:
Nomnomnom. When Taylor returned home from work, we proceeded to Zinburger where I had medium-well done sliders, much to Taylor’s dismay. They were delicious.
After dinner we returned home for a rousing game of Cards Against Humanity before retiring for the evening. The next day Garrett attempted to fix his phone, sadly to no avail, while I was a lazy bum and mostly napped. For lunch Shaayna, Garrett and I met Taylor at Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles where I had the best waffle I’ve probably ever had. That evening Taylor and Shaayna took us to a bomb ass pizza place called Pizzeria Bianco with an adjoining bar that was quaint and very neat.
After dinner we went to see Jurrasic World and I drooled over Chris Pratt for two hours. We went to bed early following the movie and Garrett and I awoke around 8:00 a.m. the next day and were out the door by 9:00 a.m. to tackle some errands before we left Phoenix. First up was the Verizon store where Garrett and I got our own plan and he got a new iPhone 6, so he is once again in contact with the outside world after the death of his iPhone 5. We now have a joint bank account and a cell phone plan together, so I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious. BIG thanks to Taylor and Shaayna for their hospitality! I absolutely loved Phoenix and Garrett liked it as well, so its definitely on our list of consideration for places we may want to live some day. xoxo Steph
